How Coaching Helped Me Find My Voice and Redesign My Work Life
There was a time when I checked all the boxes — a successful career in global procurement, leadership roles across industries, the kind of job that looked great on paper. But inside? Something felt, not normal.
I felt discontented. Always missing something that may bring the joy in my life. That’s when I turned to coaching — not as a coach, but as a client.
From “Doing It All” to Asking What I Really Want.
Like many professionals, I had spent years solving problems, meeting expectations, and managing teams across time zones. I was good at what I did. But I rarely stopped to ask myself:
- What energizes me?
- What do I want my work to feel like?
- What do I need to say — and to whom — that I’ve been holding back?
Through coaching, I didn’t get quick answers. I got something more valuable: space to pause and think out loud without judgment. I found clarity through questions. And slowly, I heard my own voice again — beneath the scripts I’d picked up along the way.
What coaching helped me embrace was that my voice — shaped by culture, experience, and empathy — was already powerful. I just needed to trust it. I started speaking more intentionally. Writing more from the heart. Listening more fully. And showing up more as myself — not just as a title or a role.
As I reconnected with what mattered to me — growth, service, meaning, autonomy — I made a decision: I didn’t want to just lead teams. I wanted to help people lead themselves. That’s when I trained formally as a coach through an ICF-accredited school and began offering coaching to others navigating their own transitions — especially those struggling with confidence, communication, or visibility in their careers.
Now, I work with professionals who feel overlooked or uncertain. Who have so much to say, but don’t always know how to say it. And who want to lead with conviction, courage, and compassion — without becoming someone they’re not.
Coaching didn’t flip my life upside down. It helped me realign — gently but powerfully — with who I really am and what I want to create.
If you’ve ever felt like your voice gets lost in the noise, or like you’re ticking boxes but missing something deeper, you’re not alone.
And you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
